Guardian AI insight
Evenings look like the harder part of your week.
When someone you love is in recovery, you can carry a lot of the worry too.
The unanswered calls. Wondering where they are. Watching for changes. Trying to support them without constantly checking up on them.
Recovery Gaurdian gives partners, families and trusted supporters their own space for reassurance, information and support.
“Now I know whether I need to check in.”
Each of these only appears when the person in recovery has agreed to share it — and they can change that at any time.

Recovery Gaurdian gives you more than alerts. It gives you reassurance, information and a support space of your own.
Recovery can include difficult, emotional or impulsive moments. When location sharing has been voluntarily enabled for a trusted supporter, Recovery Gaurdian uses a three-day cooling-off period before that sharing arrangement can be switched off.
The aim is simple: an important support connection should not disappear because of one difficult moment.
Step 1
Location sharing is voluntarily enabled and the supporter is selected.
Step 2
If a request is made to turn location sharing off, the three-day cooling-off period begins.
Step 3
After the cooling-off period, the sharing arrangement can end in accordance with the app's existing rules.
You're told about the three-day cooling-off period before enabling location sharing.
The same safeguard applies to your recovery connections. Removing an existing supporter starts a 72-hour cooling-off period, helping prevent an impulsive decision from instantly disconnecting the people supporting your recovery.
Equivalent safeguards apply to active professional and organisation recovery relationships, so support isn't lost the moment things feel difficult.
Yes — a phone can physically be switched off, and no app can report a live position from a device with no power. But Recovery Gaurdian doesn't simply lose the trail.
When a device stops reporting, its last known location is retained and authorised supporters can see that location reporting has stopped.
If the phone is later switched back on and unlocked, Recovery Gaurdian is designed to resume authorised tracking in the background — without the app needing to be opened manually — and immediately attempts to obtain a genuine fresh location. Once obtained, it is uploaded straight away, becomes the new latest known location, and authorised supporters can receive a “Location reporting restored” notification.
If the phone is then switched off again, that newly captured location remains the latest known position.
Even a brief period with the phone switched back on and unlocked may be enough for Recovery Gaurdian to obtain and report a new location. GPS availability, network conditions and Android restrictions affect how quickly a genuine fresh fix becomes available.

These cooling-off safeguards are not intended to keep anyone in an unsafe relationship or situation. Where there is a genuine safety, abuse, security or safeguarding concern, urgent safeguarding action remains available through the appropriate process.
Step 1

Step 2
Partner, family, sponsor — you decide who.
Step 3

Step 4
Check-ins, milestones, meetings and insights.
When location sharing is switched on, your Recovery Team sees live location, trigger-zone alerts, phone battery and last-known location — peace of mind, not paranoia.

With Open Banking connected, Recovery Gaurdian can monitor financial activity for warning signs such as large cash withdrawals, bookmaker transactions, alcohol-related spending and unusual changes in spending behaviour.
